FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep working with my Design-Expert projects?

Yes. DoEStat opens .dxpx files directly — factors, design, measured responses and model settings all come across. A preview shows what will be imported before you commit, and anything DoEStat treats differently or does not support is listed as a warning. Nothing is reinterpreted silently.

Does DoEStat need an internet connection?

Not for day-to-day work. All computation is local, projects are files on your machine or network share, there is no user account and no cloud. The licence is checked offline as well: it is a signed file tied to a machine fingerprint, so no licence server has to be reachable. The only component that goes online is the update check.

What happens when the trial or the licence expires?

The installation stays usable indefinitely as a free viewer: open projects, inspect results and plots, export reports (watermarked). Only computation and saving are locked. Colleagues, reviewers and auditors can therefore read your projects without needing a licence of their own.

What are the system requirements, and how do we roll it out?

Windows 10 (1809 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit. The standard installation runs in the user profile and requires no administrator rights; for central deployment there is a silent install for Intune, SCCM or winget.

What exactly does “named user” mean?

A licence covers one named person — not a workstation, and not concurrent use. It is issued as a signed licence file tied to a machine fingerprint; if you move to a different machine, we issue a new file. Volume pricing applies from five licences under one agreement.
